Are you busy? When spring comes along, we see summer through rose-colored glasses – meaning that it’s going to be a time of refreshment and ease. Does your summer go that way? For most of us, there are times of that, but summer is also the time of vacations, play-dates for our kids, beach time, family reunions, camping, yard work, projects you’ve been putting off on the “honey-do” list among many other things. In Psalm 32:8 God says that He,
“will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you”
So, I ask again, are you busy? Are you TOO busy for God? Take a moment, slow down just a notch & pray – sit at the feet of the Lord and rest in His presence, allow His peace to enter your heart. Jesus declares this in Matthew 11:28-30,
“Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Even the author in Hebrews writes about a rest that is only found in God alone, and if we enter that rest that God provides with every effort, we also receive rest from our own work or labor(Hebrews 4:10-11). How could this change your day or experience? How would/could your priorities change because you put God first?
